As the UK marks National Volunteers’ Week on 1-7 June, the Oddfellows would like to say thank you to, and formally recognise, all the people who have selflessly stepped forward to help those in need in ways we’ve never seen before.

The Australian bushfires of 2019/20 left no less than 33 dead and destroyed more than 11 million hectares of bush, forest and parkland. This month, as the result of a Society-wide appeal, £7,600 has been sent to help those directly affected by the crisis.

David Randall would like to extend his best wishes and thanks during this time of uncertainly.

Barbara, whose retirement came earlier than planned, says the support of her local Oddfellows group makes every day feel like a holiday.

Each year, three Oddfellows members are selected to receive a coveted Educational Award, each of which is open to applications from members of all ages, as long as they’ve been a member for five years, and are undertaking a degree for the very first time.

Bright spark James, from Newport Pagnell, has been awarded the Oddfellows Apprenticeship Award for 2019.

A widow from Wilton who all but died of a broken heart following the death of her husband has spoken of the joy she has finally found through Oddfellows friendship.
