Oddfellows Online Events – Code of Conduct

Our online events are open to everyone. To help create a welcoming and comfortable space for all, we ask that participants follow these simple guidelines:

Be respectful

  • Treat others with courtesy and kindness.
  • Allow everyone a chance to speak.
  • Be mindful that participants may have different communication styles, confidence levels or access needs.
  • Avoid any language or behaviour that could be offensive, intimidating or discriminatory.

Cameras and microphones

  • There’s no pressure to have your camera on during the session.
  • Please mute your microphone when not speaking to reduce background noise.
  • You are welcome to participate in a way that feels comfortable for you, including listening only or leaving the session at any time.

Keep the space safe

  • No disruptive, abusive or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Do not share unwanted or inappropriate content, backgrounds, links, promotional material, record sessions, take screenshots or share personal information discussed during events without permission from the event host.
  • Use the chat function respectfully and avoid side conversations that may exclude others.

Our actions

If behaviour goes against these guidelines, the event host may:

  • Issue a polite warning.
  • Mute or remove a participant from the session.
  • Block someone from joining future events, if necessary.

If you ever feel uncomfortable during an event, please contact the host privately through the Zoom chat function or, after the session, email events@oddfellows.co.uk

Any concerns will be taken seriously and handled respectfully.
