Friday 27 March 2026 at 12.15am

Cost: £25 plus coach, to include tour/talk, lunch, transport & tips

Bookable | Deadline: 28/02/2026

Built in 1932 the Grade II* listed Stockport Plaza is a building of international significance, as the last remaining art deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre in the UK, still trading in its original capacity.  Many of the greatest stage and screen stars of yesteryear and the modern day have appeared in person on stage or on the giant silver screen here at The Plaza since her doors first opened.

We will have a guided tour (or talk if you have limited mobility) and then have a delicious lunch of soup and sandwiches.

Following, you may walk up the road and visit Hatworks, the UK's only museum dedicated to the hatting industry, hats and headwear. (Entry is free but we will pre-book for those interested - last entry 3.15pm).  Alternatively have a wander around Stockport's shopping centre.
