Wednesday 3 June 2026 at 1.30pm
Cost: £16
Non-member Cost: £20
A very special opportunity to explore the medium of pottery in a 2.5 hour workshop, lead by Verran Townsend. Verran runs Grief Pottery classes and has many years of experience teaching ceramics. His methods focus on gaining wellbeing, confidence and comfort in working with our hands. Everyone will be able to have a go at both throwing a pot on the potter's wheel and hand building too (for example, creating a small cup or bowl, a tile, or a small sculpture). At the end of the session everyone will be able to choose to keep what they have made or to allow their pieces to be recycled. If you would like to keep things then they could either take them home straight away (the clay will still be soft), or the studio can finish your work off for you, (trimming the bases of the thrown pieces, bisque firing the work, applying a glaze of your choice to the bisque ware and then high firing the work to bond the glaze to the finished piece). You can then collect the fired work approximately 3 weeks later - there is a £5 additional charge for this service. including having a go on the potter's wheel. The session will last for 2.5 hours. from 1.30 to 4.00 on that afternoon and is a maximum of 10 people allowed
