We will first visit Carnforth Station where we will have morning coffee and later enjoy a soup and sandwich light lunch (all included in cost). The award-winning Heritage Centre is located within a working railway station, famously featured in the classic 1945 film ‘Brief Encounter’. As you stand on Platform 1 with its vintage suitcases and railway posters, you can almost imagine the era when steam trains frequently passed through. We will then travel the short distance to Leighton Hall, a much loved family home and the centre of an agricultural estate since medieval times for a guided tour. We will have tea and biscuits (included in cost) before leaving for home. Coach pick up 9am Warrington and 9.20am St Helens. A £5 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your place, final balance by 4 August please.
