A Benevolence Grant is a non-repayable cash grant designed to support members through difficult times.

This could be to help members living with a chronic illness, coping with a significant change in personal or family circumstance or dealing with a sudden and serious home emergency.

Please note that the issue you need financial assistance to support must not have started prior to joining the Society.

The amount of the Benevolence Grant is decided on a case-by-case basis and, in the first instance, financial support is provided by a member’s Branch. In some cases, there may be opportunities for supplementary Benevolence Grant support nationally.

This is a discretionary benefit and members can apply for it from day one of their membership.*

How to apply

The first step is to contact your Branch Secretary to discuss your situation. They can also send you a Benevolence Grant application form.

Your Branch will update you on the outcome of your application.
