The Oddfellows raises £10,000 for victims of the Manchester bombing

Members from across the country have raised an incredible £10,000 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund to continue to support victims of the tragic bombing at Manchester Arena.

The emergency fund launched by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross, raises money for those affected by the attack and their families. So far almost £2 million has been donated through their JustGiving page alone with donations still coming in every day more than six months after the attack.

Jane Nelson, CEO of the Oddfellows, said: “As one of the largest and friendliest societies in the UK, the Oddfellows believe in a community bonded by friendship, care and charitable support. As an organisation founded in Salford we feel so privileged to be able to give this donation to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. It means so much to the members to be able to help in anyway. We want to let those who have been affected by the tragedy know that they will always have the support of the Oddfellows and the Manchester community. They will never be forgotten.”

Vicky Rosin, Chief Operating Officer of the Manchester Emergency Fund, said: “We cannot thank organisations like the Oddfellows enough for their generous donations. It means so much to those that have not only lost loved ones but those that have continued to be affected by the terrible event both physically and mentally. The generosity of individuals and organisations not just in Manchester but across the UK and the world has been incredible. This amazing donation from the Oddfellows and their members will go a long way in the continued support of victims and their families.”
