New website for Unity Mutual

Updated: 24 Sep 2025

Unity Mutual, our financial services brand, has launched a new website. As well as having a fresh look, it gives you more ways to customise how information is displayed, so you can view it in the format that best suits you.

Found at www.unitymutual.co.uk, the site’s optional features include screen masking, reading rulers, text spacing adjustments, and font customisation. These tools are designed to make navigating and understanding information easier and less overwhelming.

Accessibility is not just a feature – it is essential.

Unity Mutual said the improvements were driven in part by a rise in customers identifying as neurodivergent, including those with autism, ADHD and dyslexia. And that this highlights the importance of ensuring the Society’s digital platforms meet a wide range of accessibility needs.

James Gilliver, Unity Mutual’s Chief of Operations, explained: “More than 25% of the UK population may face barriers online due to disability, learning difficulty, visual impairment, or limited English. We believe accessibility is not just a feature – it is essential.”

The new accessibility toolbar, powered by Recite Me software, is located in the top left corner of each page, and can be used by clicking the ‘Need help reading this page?’ link and icon.

Special savings rates for members

The Unity Mutual brand was established by the Oddfellows in 2018 to represent its financial services offering. Current savings and investment products include Lifetime, Junior and Flexible ISAs, Tax-Exempt Savings Plans, and Over-50s Life Insurance.

Because of this connection, Oddfellows members are periodically offered special rates on selected Unity Mutual savings products, which can always be found on its dedicated Oddfellows offers website page. At present, this includes an exclusive fixed-rate on its two-year and three-year Guaranteed Investment Bonds for all members.*

Benefits of mutuality

As of 31 August 2025, the Society’s UK membership stands at around 327,000, of which 290,300 are Insurance members who hold a Unity Mutual product.

Jane Nelson, CEO of the Oddfellows, said: “As Unity Mutual is part of the Oddfellows, it also operates as a mutual and not-for-profit. This means it’s run by members, for members. We don’t have shareholders, so our profits are used to benefit members – to lower fees, improve returns, and ensure they have a say in how we’re run.”

Talk to UK-based teams

In addition to support available through its new website, Unity Mutual is proud of its commitment to having a UK-based customer support team available at the end of the phone.

James said: “It’s important that people can get answers and support in the way that feels most comfortable to them. For many, being able to have a conversation over the phone is invaluable.

“Our Manchester-based customer service teams are ready to take your calls. You can also email or write to us.”

Committed to diversity and inclusion

The website redesign, which went live in August, also reflects the organisation’s wider commitment to diversity and inclusion, and aligns with the FCA’s Consumer Duty standards, which focus on helping customers achieve their financial goals.

Jane added: “Unity Mutual is committed to making sure all our customers can access information and services in the way that best meets their needs. With our new website, we’re proud to reinforce our promise to inclusivity and accessibility.”

Alongside accessibility improvements, Unity Mutual is also strengthening its commitment to financial education. The new website offers clear, accessible resources to help people build confidence in managing their money, savings and future planning.

The Knowledge Hub currently includes articles such as What’s a Flexible Stocks and Shares ISA?, The (seasonal) financial scams you should be aware of and How to teach your teenager(s) about budgeting.
