Discover Torquay's heroic past with some remarkable local stories. Whether you’re captivated by wartime heroics, military milestones, or surprising cultural connections, this tour promises a profound and unforgettable journey.  Listen to the emotional story of Torquay’s bravest resident, who risked her life to help make D-Day a success, stand at the spot where American troops departed for Utah Beach and visit the graves of Torquay’s 2 Victoria Cross recipients.

The route is flat a with places to sit, but it is 2 hours long and a certain pace is needed to be kept to schedule, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, though is suitable for mobility scooters. There are toilets at the start, with a chance to buy refreshments and have a comfort break at the halfway point.  Weather can affect suitability of proceeding with event, so please check with me before you set off, if you are in any doubt of the event going ahead.  Departure is 2.30pm sharp, so don't be late.
