We are delighted to be welcoming Jane Wilson-Howarth, mother, physician, author and zoologist to give her talk 'Under a Himalayan Sky', which is a story of 'Love, Loss and Learning to Live'.

Hospital frightened baby David. The prospect of an open-heart operation frightened us so we made the difficult decision to resist surgery – for a while – and left stark sterile wards and hypodermics and headed back home to monsoon vibrancy, cacophonous chaos and a normal family life. We regrouped on a remote river island beneath Himalayan foothills, where we learned to live again and found joy connecting with our chucklesome infant son. Here my new baby was admired, finally, and ultimately David fixed the holes in his heart, disproving his Cambridge doctors’ gloomy prognostications.
