Join us for this day out visiting York’s historic streets which come alive for York Ice Trail 2026, where visitors discover secrets of this enchanted city.
As we wander through the city, we will uncover the theme of Enchanted City" with stunning ice sculptures inspired by legends, myths, and York's rich history. Live ice carvings will bring these stories to life, and interactive experiences will delight us. Attendees also will have the chance to win exciting prizes along the way.
When it was time to refuel, many indulged in the finest food-to-go at Shambles Food Court. And for those needing assistance on their icy quest, the friendly team at the Visitor Information Centre on Parliament Street was there to guide them every step of the way.
A spell has been cast and ice sculptures, alive with enchantment appear across the cobbled and narrow streets of the city. Sculptures inspired by magic, mystery, the weird and wonderful create an extraordinary trail. But who cast the spell? And why? Follow the trail. Uncover the truth. Before the ice melts—and takes everything with it. This will be a great day out and something new for us to experience.
