It might be April Fools Day but this is no joke!  The Oddfellows are off to visit Torquay’s St Michael’s Chapel at 2.00 on April 1st, 2026.  Atop a dramatic limestone outcrop near Torre Station, this lovely medieval chapel is usually locked up but we have been given a rare opportunity to enter a place that was sacred to many thousands of the faithful for centuries.  Local Historian, Dr Kevin Dixon, will host the visit and will be there to tell us all about this mysterious and long-forgotten chapel.

The best way to visit on the day is to park on Barton Road and use the pathway to Chapel Hill Pleasure Grounds. We will meet on Barton Road at 2pm, and walk through the woods. Please be aware that the ground is steep and uneven and, in places, not easily accessible. Good footwear is advised and there are no toilets on the site.
