The many layers of Anglesey Abbey

Talks & Demos, Food & Drink, History | Cambridge District Branch

Thursday 13 June 2024 at 2.00pm

According to their national strategy for 2025 the National Trust is 'committed to promoting and preserving those places of natural beauty and historic interest for which it has the privilege to be responsible for the benefit of the nation, for everyone, for ever'.

One of those buildings is Anglesey Abbey, just on the outskirts of Cambridge in Lode--a beautiful building, gardens and Lode Mill, believed to have been founded by Henry I in 1135 as the Hospital of St Mary just on our doorstep in Lode.

We'd love you to join us to hear to Helen Ackroyd tell us a bit more about the history of this building, the grounds and how they plan to look after it for future generations to come.

Refreshments will be available.
