Join the Sevenoaks Branch in welcoming Ian Bevan to The Stanhope Arms for a history of Bethnal Green. Bethnal Green was a medieval hamlet to the east of the City of London. It became popular with rich merchants in the 16th century but serious immigration began in the 18th century and by the end of the 19th century foreign immigration had turned Bethnal Green into an overpopulated scene of poverty and degradation. Refreshments will be provided.
Please note that booking is essential. Email Solveig Stanhope to book your place Solveig.Stanhope@oddfellows.co.uk or ring Mike on 07711 677 683.
