**Online** Trouble Maker: the Life and Art of Caravaggio
Talks & Demos, Culture | Nationwide event hosted by Unity Office
Tuesday 2 June 2026 at 7.00pm
Ann Marie Michel is back, this time with a fascinating talk on the life of renown painter (and trouble maker!) Caravaggio. In this richly illustrated talk, Ann Marie will look at the painter's modest beginnings, chart his rise to fame and fall to infamy, and his startlingly original and emotional art. He revolutionised 16th and 17th century art and practically invented the cinematic close-up, but he was lonely, prone to fits of depression and anger, in constant debt and in and out of prison. He ended his life as an exile and a murderer - but his paintings speak to the modern world as no other classical painter. Join us for a fascinating evening where will explore “the embodiment of troubled genius”.
