The Real Wolf Hall - what really happened between Henry the Eighth, Cromwell and Anne Boleyn
Talks & Demos, Social | West London District Branch
Tuesday 19 May 2026 at 2.00pm
On the 490th anniversary of Anne Boleyn's execution we are joined by Ian Porter, historian, novelist, public speaker and walks guide, for a fascinating talk exploring the untold backstories of Henry VIII, Thomas Cromwell, and Anne Boleyn. It explores details often overlooked in films and TV shows. Ian also delves into two intriguing theories behind Henry's terrible behavior—could it have been linked to a hereditary blood disorder, another medical condition, or possibly brain damage from an accident? Additionally, Ian examines the plot against Anne, the men accused alongside her, and offers insights into the lives of Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves
Light refreshments will be served, donations are welcomed.
Please note that the afternoon will begin at 2pm, latecomers may not be admitted.
