Take some time out

Our annual Oddfellows Summer Holiday, hosted by Debbie Jex, our Grand Master for 2026/7, is open to all members and their guests.

It's a chance to enjoy some quality time out in wonderful and welcoming company.

We've an evening drinks reception planned for the first night, so you can get to know others on your stay, as well as a number of optional group activities within the hotel and in the local area (details to be confirmed).

It's up to you as to how busy or involved you want your break to be. There are opportunities to dine as a group and on-site activities include croquet, board games, aqua aerobics, history talks and tours of the grounds.

During your stay, in-house entertainment highlights include performances from Brian Connolly Jr, "The Son Of Sweet", who'll be taking you back to the 70s for a nostalgic evening of Glam Rock, plus comedy from Paul Boardman.

Your hotel

Alvaston Hall in Nantwich, Cheshire, is an elegant Victorian country house surrounded by award-winning peaceful gardens and a landscape of gentle hills.

The hotel has a fascinating blend of architectural styles and a quirky lack of symmetry. The look dates back to 1896, when Manchester industrialist Arthur Knowles commissioned Alvaston Hall's half-timber framing, eye-catching clock tower and the placing of gargoyles above its porch.

The hotel's facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness centre, spa treatment rooms, beauty facilities and a games room with a dart board, pool table and large screen TV.
