Exploring areas of outstanding natural beauty

This Oddfellows-hosted group holiday will effortlessly show you some of North Wales' breathtaking scenery – from coast to mountains –  in welcoming company.

You'll be staying in the attractive bay resort of Llandudno, with its two sandy beaches, magnificent crescent of hotels, broad tree-lined streets and elegant shops.

Two optional day trips are included in the price of your holiday.

On day two, there is a coach trip to the Isle of Anglesey, where the entire coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You'll call at the seaside town of Beaumaris with its mix of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian buildings.

On day four, the second day trip will take you to Caernarfon, home to Wales’ most famous castle and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you'll venture into the Snowdonia National Park, calling at Llanberis situated at the foot of Mount Snowdon and Porthmadog.

We'll be organising some group drinks and times to dine together during the stay, and enjoying the hotel's evening entertainment, but your days will be largely free to plan as you please.

This group holiday is open to any members and their guests and will be hosted by our Oddfellows Travel coordinator and South East Lancashire Branch member, Emma Gorst.

Your hotel

The 126-bedroom Hydro Hotel is ideally placed on the seafront close to the Venue Cymru Theatre and a short walk from Llandudno’s shops, pier and Happy Valley gardens.

The hotel has a large entertainment suite with a dance floor and entertainment most evenings There are sun lounges as well as a games room with a snooker table.

You'll also find spectacular views over the bay or over the town to the Snowdonia Mountain range from many of the hotel’s bedrooms and from its Looking Glass Bar. 

Lifts serve all floors. All en-suite rooms have tea and coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer, and Freeview TV with radio channels. Ironing facilities are available from reception.

Getting there

Alfa Travel offers a free connecting service to its Reading Interchange from a number of South East region pick up points. Enter your postcode into Alfa Travel's Pick up Finder to locate your nearest pick up point, or view the holiday page to see the locations where you can join en-route.

You can also make your own way to the Hydro Hotel.

The hotel's address is the Hydro Hotel, Nevill Crescent, Llandudno, Gwynedd LL30 1AS. There is a free car park at the hotel. The closest train station is Llandudno, which is a 9-minute walk away.
