On Tuesday 6 June 1944, the Allies launched the much-anticipated invasion of Normandy, France. D-Day was the start of Allied operations which would ultimately liberate Western Europe, defeat Nazi Germany and end the Second World War.
Join us to hear Richard Gibbons give an atmospheric account of the build-up to D-Day, the plans for the invasion, the landings, the campaign in the Bocage and the subsequent aftermath.
