Halcyon Days In Oman

Speaker Mike Bevington joins us to talk about his very interesting days in Oman between 1957 - 1958 as a young soldier with the Oman Scouts, later called the Oman Defence Force. Mike was part of a four man communications unit, working for the Foreign Office and were considered a top secret group. Keys functions were communications with Bahrain and Cyprus, directing the aircraft onto their targets and also acting as a relay between the frigates in the Gulf and Bahrain. Mike reflects on a very interesting and exciting time of his life.
