Out & About - The Portico Library

The venue in its original 1806 building, celebrates Manchester's historic and contemporary culture and is home to an eclectic range of events and exhibitions. Along with the main Library we can visit the Echoes-China and Hongkong exhibition which seeks to navigate Britain's complex colonial relations with China and Hong Kong, and  features commissioned artistic responses from local filmmakers. We will meet in the cafe area at 1.45pm but please note if you wish to come in earlier for refreshments the cafe shuts at 2.00pm. The Library is located next to two tram stops and the free city bus.
