Kyle’s a kickboxing champ

A young Oddfellow is making quite a name for himself in the world of competitive kickboxing.

Kyle Payne from the Pride of Woolwich District has picked up numerous medals and titles over recent months thanks to his hard work, commitment and obvious talent

Seventeen-year-old Kyle recently won a gold medal at the Unified World Kickboxing Championships. The event, which attracted the best of the best from across the sport, was held in Carrara Fiere, Italy.

Kyle’s gold medal adds to an already impressive list of other successes.

He also holds the IKF (International Kickboxing Federation) European, British and English bantamweight titles.

Kickboxing since he was 11, Kyle trains five nights a week at his local kickboxing club, TKO Elite Gym.

He has previously been named the club’s ‘Fighter of the Year’ and competes as part of the club’s Team TKO Elite.

Kyle combines his demanding training and competition schedule with studying full time for his A Levels.

He said of his continuing success: “Taking part in the World Championships in Italy was amazing and really helped to develop my fighting abilities.

“As you can imagine the level of competition was incredibly high so I’m over the moon at winning a gold medal.”
