Adrian Hemming, Oddfellows Event Organiser and member said: “We’ve such a pool of artistic talent in Exeter and it was fantastic to transform our regular meeting place to play curator of our own community art gallery for the day.”

With an eclectic combination of contemporary and abstract pieces from local artists including Angela Davies and Colin Hawkins, guests were also treated to a warm welcome of free refreshments.

The Big Draw (thebigdraw.org) has been promoting visual literacy and drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention since 2000. It is the world’s largest festival of drawing, staging thousands of arty events across the world every October.

“I’d like to thank everyone who came along for some culture over a friendly cuppa,” concluded Adrian.

Based in Exeter and Torquay, the Society’s members regularly get together to enjoy social events such as trips out, lunches and coffee mornings. To find out more and get involved with other events call Jennifer on 01392 272749 or email jennifer.pooley@oddfellows.co.uk.
