Afternoon Tea - Tea Parlour, Liverpool
Food & Drink | Ormskirk & Southport District Branch
Friday 14 September 2018 at 1.00pm
Cost: £22 including tip ( plus any transport costs)
Tea Parlour is a very traditional tearoom in a very unconventional setting - a one-time banana warehouse in the heart of Liverpool’s historical Cavern Quarter. Built in the 1890s, long before Mathew Street was known as the birthplace of The Beatles, the Grade II listed building served as a goods depot, and a part of the fruit and tea trade that defined the port during the late 19th century and shaped the city’s UNESCO world heritage landscape.
Its inherent good bones and interesting history make Tea Parlour a marvellously quirky place to experience an unmistakably British afternoon tea. The food is humble and homemade, using great local suppliers and British products to create simply tasty food.
Places are limited, so members will be given preference. Please book early to avoid disappointment. We will travel by public transport and have our afternoon tea at 1pm. Please advise of any dietary requirements at time of booking.
