Talks & Demos, Social | Ipswich District Branch
Tuesday 26 August 2025 at 10.30am
Cost: £8
Non-member Cost: £10
Join us for a fun interactive sing-song morning with Stuart Green. Stuart will lead us through a variety of activities ranging from, an illustrated talk on the history of the sea shanty, to discovering the relevant maritime language used on ships, and often used as part of the song lyrics. We’ll also investigate how modern shanties are written with a historical narrative, using one of Stuart’s own songs as an example!
This promises to be a fun interactive morning full of audience participation. No singing ability necessary – this is a fun sing-song, not a choral masterpiece!
