York Cold War Bunker Guided Tour

Join us for a guided tour of the two-storey, semi-subterranean, Cold War Bunker, built in 1961 to monitor nuclear explosions and fallout in Yorkshire, in the event of nuclear war. I would recommend using public transport, as there's limited parking on the housing estate. If you do opt to drive, passengers with mobility issues should be dropped off at the main entrance. The steep stairs there can be avoided by using the wheelchair entrance or chair lift. Once inside, floors are level, smooth concrete and carpet. This event is Free for English Heritage members, but you still need to pre-book with Sarah. Please make sure that she knows at the time of booking and remember to bring your English Heritage membership card with you on the day, else you will be charged.
