York Out to Lunch at The Dawnay Arms

The Dawnay Arms, built in 1779, is situated in the picturesque village of Newton-on-Ouse at the gates to Beningbrough Hall with a large garden to the rear, which stretches down to the river. Prices start at £5 for Soup of the day. It is in the Good Food Guide and serves a British menu, made up of locally sourced ingredients, including Beer Battered Haddock & Chips (full portion £19; half £14), freshly prepared 12" stone-baked pizzas (£14 - £16) and local game dishes.
