Cost: £xx

Bookable | Deadline: 09/04/2025

We will travel to Leighton Hall, stopping for morning coffee at Carnforth Station.  The award winning Heritage Centre is located within a working railway station, famously featured in the classic 1945 film ‘Brief Encounter’ directed by David Lean and starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard.

As you stand on Platform 1 with its vintage suitcases and railway posters, you can almost imagine the era when steam trains frequently passed through.

We will then travel the short distance to Leighton Hall, which has been a much loved family home and the centre of an agricultural estate since mediaeval times. Come and discover the history of the hall and how it has changed in appearance and size over almost 800 years.

Enjoy the famous collection of Gillow furniture and objets d’art, the gardens and woodland walk.

The family lives here all the year round and they look forward to sharing it with you.
