Ramsgate Tunnels

Before we start the tour there is the option to have a light lunch at their cafe. After this we will be treated to a short film shown in a 150 year old Victorian Railway Tunnel heading further into the Air Raid Precautions Tunnels. You will hear about the then local Council's ambitious plans to provide shelter up to 60,000 people! In 1939 this happened for many of the people of Ramsgate who made the tunnels their home. 

Unfortunately, this event isn't unsuitable for those with mobility issues or problems with confined spaces.
