**Online** Elizabeth Barton – the Holy Maid of Kent

Talks-Demos

Talks & Demos | Nationwide event hosted by Flower of Kent Branch (SL)

Friday 21 March 2025 at 2.00pm

Melanie Gibson-Barton explores the story of Elizabeth Barton, a servant girl born in the village of Aldington in Kent in 1506.  During the reign of Henry VIII, the young woman's visions and prophesies were to bring her national and international attention and were deemed so dangerous to Henry VIII, Katherine of Aragon and Ann Boleyn that Elizabeth Barton had to be put to death, aged just 28.  Melanie has recently presented this talk to the members of the Barton Society in the USA who delightfully described it as ‘awesome!’.  The one click link, just for this session, is https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87614496492.
